For many years it was thought that the brain stopped developing at the age of 18. We now know this is not true. The brain continues to develop throughout a person’s lifespan. Not only that but we can do certain things to change our brains. Similar to a computer, we can program our brains. The more we practice something the more our brain will change so that we can do that thing even more quickly and efficiently. This can go for happiness too. Such exercises as writing down things that you are grateful for on a daily basis or taking in positive experiences no matter how small (like a child’s laughter) and reveling in it can begin to change your brain.
