Relapse Prevention addresses those situations a client faces, who relapses, or fears they are going to relapse, during or after treatment, and do not know how to stop it. The goal is to develop a better understanding of what relapse is, the process of relapse and how it can be prevented. The content of the classes include identification of high-risk situations, stress management and coping skills. Classes are designed for the individual who already accepts his/her problem with alcohol and or drugs, does not want to use alcohol and drugs, and recognizes the need to work a recovery program.
Also available is Relapse Prevention Therapy, an individualized program that offers the opportunity for guided self-exploration in the areas of:
• Personal values
• Identification of feelings and needs
• Consequences of past and current behaviors and desired personal and environmental and social changes
• Making choices and setting appropriate goals
• Problem solving skills
• Resource for recovery support
